FOR COMMERCIAL SKIPPERS & CREW

Professional Practices and Responsibilities (PPR) course is designed for commercial skippers and crew. It is mandatory to take this course if you are aiming for a commercial license.

PPR course is offered online only, and it takes approximately 6 – 8 hours to complete. You can complete it in one sitting or complete at your own pace starting and stopping working through the course to prepare for the final assessment. 

Experience : You do not need experience to qualify for this course. That’s because we will give you a complete overview of your professional responsibilities and the practices you need to follow.

Course Info : The content covers the commercial environment, manning, safe management, safety equipment, legislation, and marine protection. There are four main sections though: 
Commercial environment: teaching you how to fit into the professional marine environment. 
People: teaching you how to keep your skills up to date according to the latest techniques, manning, and safe management of commercial equipment. 
Vessel: teaching you about carrying and managing necessary safety equipment, forming a risk control plan. 
Purpose: teaching you the basics i.e., legal framework of the vessel, whether it is appropriate for the work under consideration, measures for the safety of the environment, and then having a complete picture of a particular situation.

Be ready to learn the rules of working on a vessel. Although it is not possible to teach you every operation type, this course will take you to a whole new level of decision making and following legal principles.
